Meet pianist/educator
Xin-Hua Richarlita You

Acclaimed for her artistry, refined interpretations, and compelling storytelling at the piano, Richarlita You has established herself as a distinguished soloist, chamber musician, and educator. She has performed in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Jordan Hall in Boston, Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, and the Peter Jay Sharp Theater in New York. With a nuanced musical voice and a deep sensitivity to her repertoire, she continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Since the age of 13, You has performed at major international music festivals, including the Bowdoin Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Music Fest Perugia, and the International Keyboard Odyssiad & Festival. In 2018, she was awarded First Prize at the International Keyboard Odyssiad & Festival Piano Competition. During her studies at the New England Conservatory with Vivian Hornik Weilerstein, she received several merit and scholarship awards in recognition of her outstanding musicianship. She later continued her training at The Juilliard School under the mentorship of Matti Raekallio.

Currently, You is pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University under the guidance of Seth Knopp, where she is a recipient of the Artistic Excellence Scholarship and a Graduate Assistantship Award.

​

A dedicated and sought-after chamber musician, You has appeared in prominent concert series such as ChamberFest at Lincoln Center, the NEC Complete Ravel Works series in Boston, and the Chamber Music Collective in Berkeley. She has collaborated with esteemed artists, including Natasha Brofsky, Lucy Russell, and others. In 2025, she made her chamber music album debut, partnering with composer Hung Ping Chang and renowned musicians including violinist Eugene Drucker, cellist Ken James Kubota, and conductor Jackson McKinnon.

Committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians, You draws upon her training from The Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, and the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University to instill both technical mastery and artistic depth in her students. She serves as an adjunct piano faculty member at Fordham University in New York City and teaches at Musart Music in Long Island, while also maintaining a thriving private studio in Manhattan.
